RaaSa is Elmsford, NY’s premier Indian fine dining destination, offering authentic Indian cuisine with a modern twist. The menu is expertly crafted by the Michelin Star and New York Times-recognized husband-and-wife team, Ashok Salian and Priya Kapoor Salian.
"RaaSa," meaning “the essence of food,” brings the vibrant flavors of India to life, blending traditional recipes with contemporary innovation. Ashok and Priya have decades of experience in hospitality and fine dining, having met while working at J.W. Marriott in Phoenix. They later moved to New York, where they played a key role in launching the acclaimed Tamarind Tribeca. Both are highly trained in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

About Chef Peter Beck
Born in New Delhi, India, Chef Peter Beck has brought his global experience to New York after working in the UK, Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong. A James Beard “Top Chef of 2002” and Michelin Star winner at Tamarind and Benares, Chef Beck is a spice expert and culinary innovator. His passion for Indian cuisine drives RaaSa’s distinctive, diverse menu.
Owners Ashok Salian & Priya Kapoor-Salian
RaaSa is owned by husband and wife Ashok Salian and Priya Kapoor-Salian. They met while working at J.W. Marriott in Phoenix and later helped launch Tamarind Tribeca, where they met Chef Peter Beck. Priya manages front-of-house and catering, while Ashok leads back-of-house and creates RaaSa’s signature cocktails.
